Sixtus Preiss – Lololo (Band Version)

A couple of days ago, our favourite Viennese label Affine unveiled their 14th release, a 7-inch by Sixtus Preiss going by the name of “Lololo”. One of the two versions on the record was now graced by the video you can watch above, an brilliant montage of footage showing various musicians (presumably found on the internet.)

The flipside of the same record, the original version, can be heard below:

If you like what you hear, you can grab the entire digital release for only €2 or pay €5.90 for the vinyl. Both are available from the Affine shop on Bandcamp.

Ogris Debris – Around Here (Sixtus Preiss Remix)

A couple of days ago, we mentioned the forthcoming Next Life EP by Austrian duo Ogris Debris and posted one of its remixes. With only one day to go until you can buy the record (the digital is already out), label-mate Sixtus Preiss has uploaded his own remix to his SoundCloud page. Fans of Hudson Mohawke, don’t sleep on this one!

Ogris Debris – Next Life

Not long after their last release by Sixtus Preiss, Viennese label Affine Records is already preparing its next one. The new EP comes from Ogris Debris, a duo formed by Daniel Kohlmeigner and Gregor Ladenhauf, occasional favourites on Gilles Peterson’s playlists. For me the highlights are both remixes, provided by The Reboot Joy Confession (listen above) and the already mentioned Sixtus Preiss.01. Next Life

Sixtus Preiss – Samba Feeling Beein This

There’s not much I can tell you about Sixtus Preiss, except that he’s based in Vienna and has a 12-inch in the pipeline on the city’s industrious Affine Records. As you might have suspected already there isn’t much samba on the record either. I guess if there’s a name for this kind of music, it has the word turbo in it. But seriously, this is one was clearly made for the dancefloor. At the same time it doesn’t really suprise why it came out on that label, and I’m nowhere near suggesting that you couldn’t dance to Dorian Concept and his peers! (Does anybody still follow me?)

So, I look much forward to listening to the entire release. It should be available on October 15th and it comes on shiny black wax or in a sequence of binary numbers. Comes with a Cid Rim remix too!

September 27, 2012 Also check out the video-teaser for the EP!
