T-Shirts! T-Shirts!

It’s been a while since I did a small run of t-shirts, but I finally had the chance to make some more. Designed by my good friend Rubens LP, they were meant as a thank you to the contributors to our podcast series. Well, there are a few left and you can buy one if you want to support this little blog.

T-Shirts! T-Shirts!

All shirts were printed with love and care, using water-based colors and organic cotton shirts. Naturally, I tested a couple of brands to make sure the shirts are durable and the colors don’t wear off.

There aren’t too many available, so you better be quick to get one. Depending on the demand I might make some more in the future.

You know I have a crush on the Kindred Spirits label, so I’m pleased to report they have some new releases. Build an Ark will soon return with their new album “Love”, in the meantime you can listen to the new EP which is available for pre-order. Already available is the album from the Kindred Spirits Ensemble, should be in stock at every good record store.

As I continue sucking up everything related to Miles Davis’ Kind of Blue album lately, I stumbled across these Legacy Podcasts about Jazz of 1959. In four episodes you can learn about jazz in the year ’59, the making of the milestone album Kind of Blue, but also on Dave Brubeck’s and Charles Mingus’ albums that came out that year.

I very much enjoyed Resident Advisor’s interview with Disco punk DJ Harvey and you should also check out FACT’s interview with Floating Points.

Mymanhenri has posted this live recording of Dorian Concept, Mamiko Motto and Cinnaman playing at L.A.’s Dublab.

Fans of the classic Reinforced label might want to show their love with this new (ehm, oldskool) t-shirt. And if I had some money left, I’d get me one of these Ghostly 10 Year Edition Posters from ISO50.

Weekly Bits 13/2009

Since South African producer Culoe de Song attended last year’s RBMA in Barcelona, he has been traded as one of the most promising talents among house enthusiasts. Last week, Berlin’s Innervision label has put out his latest 12-inch, accompanied by a download-only track. Culoe also contributed a mix to Resident Advisor‘s podcast series, proving that he’s also got talent as a DJ. More mixes can be found on this Brownswood thread.

If you fancy darker sounds, Vice Magazine features a mixtape from Hyperdub producing artist Ikonika. Lots of dubstep, mostly from Hyperdub and some of her own productions.

Oh, I haven’t really mentioned the brandnew nutriot shirts! You can order them already from Spreadshirt, an article on the designer will follow soon.
