I was just thinking about the first time, we had music from Fulgeance on this site. Then I noticed that back then, it was still common to mention an artist’s MySpace page. That was a long time ago!. It’s good to know he’s still around, busy as ever with his many disguises, quite probably the busiest Frenchman in music. And if his signing to Ed Banger Records is an indicator, he’s doing more than well.
So, there’s a new Fulgeance EP out on Ed Banger, titled “The Phoenix”. Émile Sacré did the video for one of its tunes and I think it’s a beauty!
Our good friend Kelpe has put out the second single on his own DRUT label earlier in the week. Backed up by a Fulgeance remix, it’s his last teaser before the new LP Fourth: The Golden Eagle drops on June 10, 2013. For more bits taken from that record, make sure to check out thesecoupleofvideos as well.
I haven’t heard about Polish duo Hau & Mikael until I stumbled across this Fulgeance remix of one of their tracks. Thought it must’ve been a track from the eighties, but it’s a new production coming out on U Know Me Records later this month. Apart from the original version there are four remixes (including the one above) and some other tracks on the 2×12-inch.
Busy as ever, Fulgeance also just released the Mini Club EP that will be followed by another LP later this year.
I haven’t known about Fulgeance‘s side-project Connecticut until minutes ago and maybe you haven’t either. Apparently, it was started by Fulgeance and Blockbass around 2003 and they released two EPs under the name on Eklektik Records.
This tracks are pure unreleased, sometimes played straight from my ol’friend MPC 2000, raw mixes, you can even hear some fails on live playing (eheh!), but this project gave me so much energy, fun and feelings, I had to share it with you.
For repeated listens, you might want to download the beat tape while it’s around. The single tracks are supposed to be available as well, I will post the link once I got it now also available for limited download.
You might have figured by now that every track is dedicated to a city. Last time it was London, this time we give you Tokyo – a special dedication to some Japanese producers and probably my favourite track on the album!
To All Of You will be available November 11, 2011.
Hailing from the south of France, Fulgeance has to be considered one of the leading figures in the beat scene. This coming November sees the release of his debut album To All Of You on German imprint Melting Pot Music and as of today you get a first taste from it.
Watch out for more details and (hopefully) a review of the record before it drops on November 11, 2011.
In the early noughties, just before turning into a mediocre rapper, Baltimore’s Cex was among my absolute favourites. Even now, ten years after, I’m still going back to listen to his first couple albums on Tigerbeat6. His Megamuse EP is the first release since 2009’s Bataille Royale, on which he went back to his early roots.
It’s already been out for a while, but the latest Huess should not stay unmentioned in this place. Released on Inaudible Answer in early December, “What It Cost” is available now on 12-inch and in digital formats.

The label states that “copies of the 12” are extremely limited so pre-orders are a must to avoid disappointment.” You can place your order for that vinyl in the Huess Bandcamp or buy the instant download from the spot. Oh, and the 12-inch purchase includes a free download in a format of your choice!
