K15 – Rain’s Meditation

CDR X Dimensions is, as the name suggests, a collaboration between the long-running producer’s night CDR and Croatian festival Dimensions. Together they are about to release their first vinyl release, CDR X Dimensions: Dimension Sounds, which should be out later this month. One of the tracks featured on the record comes from an old favourite of our’s, London’s multi-faceted producer K15, and it’s probably reason enough to hit the pre-order button over at Juno.

Dim Grimm – Perlissop EP

I don’t even remember the last talk about Dim Grimm’s “Cite” album, it has been way too long. The Swiss producer formerly known as Dimlite hasn’t updated the videos from that session in more than two years. I’m a patient guy, I can wait. If you’re not of the patient kind, I’ve got good news for you: Dim Grimm just uploaded a new EP to his Bandcamp page, his first official release in many years. That’s five tracks for only €4, do I need to say more? Go and buy this!

And if you missed it before, check out that Dim Grimm mixtape from earlier this year.

Dolphin – Basic Life

Portland’s Fresh Selects just unveiled their new Digital 12-Inch series with this incredibly suave piece by Dolphin. I know what you’re asking: what’s a digital 12-inch?! I’m sorry, I can’t answer that, maybe I don’t even care. What I can answer though that this “package” contains two track by the Baltimore-based multi-instrumentalist and singer and is available for $1 – yes, one dollar! – from the Fresh Selects Bandcamp. And if you’re into that, why not check out last year’s Young Black Mind as well?

Floating Points – Kuiper

A little more than half a year after Sam Shepherd released his debut-album as Floating Points, the London-based musician and producer just announced the next release on his own Pluto label. “Kuiper” is the title track of the EP of the same name, an eighteen-and-half-minute long, what sounds to me like the result of an incredible band jam. For the last couple of weeks, Sam has been touring North America for a live tour with band mates including Eglo’s own Kirkis on guitar, Jim Orso (East Coast dates only) and Leo Taylor on drums, Susumu Mukai on bass, and Alex Reeve on guitar. After my first listen, I started wild guessing who else might be on the record: James Holden, Four Tet, maybe Caribou?

Floating Points Live-band

Catch Floating Points with his band live across his remaining dates, and mark your calendars on July 22nd, the release date of the new Kuiper EP.

Update: The date above applies to the vinyl only, the digital release is available now!

Fulgeance – G.I.T.E.M.

I was just thinking about the first time, we had music from Fulgeance on this site. Then I noticed that back then, it was still common to mention an artist’s MySpace page. That was a long time ago!. It’s good to know he’s still around, busy as ever with his many disguises, quite probably the busiest Frenchman in music. And if his signing to Ed Banger Records is an indicator, he’s doing more than well.

So, there’s a new Fulgeance EP out on Ed Banger, titled “The Phoenix”. Émile Sacré did the video for one of its tunes and I think it’s a beauty!
