Thundercat - The Golden Age of Apocalypse

Thundercat - The Golden Age of Apocalypse

Cover Artwork

For faithful disciples of all things Brainfeeder it's no secret that this summer will see the release of Thundercat‘s first solo effort on the label operated by Flying Lotus. The Los Angeles native going by the name of Stephen Bruner contributed to the last Flying Lotus album has made himself a name as bassplayer for the likes of Erykah Badu (both New Ameryah albums), SA-RA as well as Shafiq Husayn, J*DaVeY or Bilal. He was also involved in several LA centric projects and contributed to the last Flying Lotus album Cosmogramma. And now it's Flying Lotus producing and releasing his album.

Just today, Pitchfork has revealed the tracklist and the cover art. They also shared a second track off the record, following the brilliant George Duke cover from some weeks back. Among the featured artists are those I have already mentioned above, including Erykah Badu and SA-RA. So it's probably no surprise that Hudson Mohawke calls it unreal.01. HooooooO

August 22, 2011 You might have heard Flying Lotus' Thundercat Shenanigans mix by now, but how about streaming the entire album a week ahead of its release?
