New Floating Points on Planet Mu
On June 6th, Planet µ Records will release one of the two upcoming records from Floating Points. It contains my personal favourite K&G Beat, which you might be familiar with from his SoundCloud or MySpace pages.
As mentioned, there will also be a follow-up to the Radiality 7-inch on Eglo Records. It will contain the track Vacuum Boogie and should be out on June 29th.
Just as I’m writing this, FACT Magazine has posted an article on the man, be sure to check it out.
PS: If someone wants to educate me whether it’s Floatingpoints or Floating Points, please leave a comment!
Sep 3, 2009 Due to problems with the first pressings, the Vacuum EP was delayed a couple of times. However, it will be out properly next week. Pre-orders available at Juno and Boomkat.

illest 12 this year….
I just Wiki’d the term ‘Floating Points’ and it tells me its a mathematical term used in computing.
When you have a set of whole numbers in sequence, the value of those number is said to be ‘floating’ because the sequence can occur in an infinite number of locations in relation its decimal point. eg, 123456.7, 1234567000.00
Im no mathematician, clearly, if I am reading about it on Wikipedia; you should take a gander at it yourself.

But its kool that a musician would name themself after this concept. I can think of several ways in which Floating Points’ music reflects this mathematical concept.
