Weekly Bits 6/2012

It's been a week full of Dilla, no doubt about that. Like every year, people around the world payed tribute in various ways and I'd like to highlight some of them.

Do the Dilla is a free compilation with tracks from Mr. Dibiase, Ta-Ku, Abby Lee Tee and many others.

Another compilation comes from our friends at Two Hungry Ghosts. It's called For Dilla and comes with beats from AD Bourke and Mecca:83 among others.

We haven't heard from Waajeed for a while, but the Detroit-based producer relaunched his Bling47 website with a couple of videos worth checking out. Another good read can be found on Egotripland.com, who talked to Waajeed about his favourite Dilla samples.

I'm sure there has been a lot more. If you came across something worth mentioning, feel free to leave a comment.

In other news, I might interest you in Sonali Aggarwal's documentary From Jack to Juke: 25 Years of Ghetto House. Runs for about an hour and you can expect what the title says.

The latest episode of Stylin' has Sampha (of SBTRKT fame) on the show. Highly recommend show, Ennio Styles nailed it once again.

Lastly, witness Frenchman Nemoy as he mashes up Freddie Hubbard with Roy Ayers in this live jam called Everybody Loves Red Clay.
