Weekly Bits 4/2010

Some long awaited releases have been on sale since last week. José James‘ second LP Blackmagic was delayed a couple of times already, but now it's finally available on CD.

LA's Stones Throw label has two new releases out now, one of them being the 5-LP box set of Dâm-Funk's album Toeachizown. The second new offering is quite a surprise to me, it's the instrumentals of Mayer Hawthorne‘s A Strange Arrangement.

Paul Pre, the man behind the latest podcast, is about to launch his club night Vast and now offers his own podcast series. You can listen to the first three on Mixcloud.

Meatskull have posted this very exclusive mixtape from Massive Attack's 3D. Back in 2002, this was a give-away to the first 200 attendees of a Nocturne club in Bristol.

More than six hours of music are featured on this recording of a Move D party in Switzerland. Fans of deep house and minimal techno need to grab this 529 megabyte monster!

Chances are high you will find me tuned in on Lukid's Ustream channel on Monday evening. Lukid, Bullion and Luke Vibert are now featured on a new 12-inch on Ghostly. Limited release, be quick!

Dazed Digital have posted some of Carlos Nino's favorites. That's favourite bands, labels, websites and books.

The RBMA in London will kick off real soon and together with Resident Advisor, they curate this special event. Carl Craig, Moritz von Oswald, Matmos, Bugge Wesseltoft, Henrik Schwartz - what are you waiting for?

And speaking of books, the author of my favourite novel The Catcher in the Rye, Jerome David Salinger has passed away this week. Rest In Peace!
