Weekly Bits 37/2009

You know I have a crush on the Kindred Spirits label, so I'm pleased to report they have some new releases. Build an Ark will soon return with their new album “Love”, in the meantime you can listen to the new EP which is available for pre-order. Already available is the album from the Kindred Spirits Ensemble, should be in stock at every good record store.

As I continue sucking up everything related to Miles Davis' Kind of Blue album lately, I stumbled across these Legacy Podcasts about Jazz of 1959. In four episodes you can learn about jazz in the year '59, the making of the milestone album Kind of Blue, but also on Dave Brubeck's and Charles Mingus' albums that came out that year.

I very much enjoyed Resident Advisor's interview with Disco punk DJ Harvey and you should also check out FACT's interview with Floating Points.

Mymanhenri has posted this live recording of Dorian Concept, Mamiko Motto and Cinnaman playing at L.A.'s Dublab.

Fans of the classic Reinforced label might want to show their love with this new (ehm, oldskool) t-shirt. And if I had some money left, I'd get me one of these Ghostly 10 Year Edition Posters from ISO50.
