Weekly Bits 24/2010

Despite the ongoing World Cup, I think it's time to revive that old fashion of weekly bits again.

With Form, producer AFTA-1 presents his latest art project: 100 cassettes with all new music, each wrapped in 1/100th piece of a painting. And if you threw your last walkman away 15 years ago, you can get a digital version as well!

Mixtape-wise, I was mostly listening to the latest Beats in Space show with Kompakt head Michael Mayer (and his set from Sunday Best) or James Holden's guestmix for the XLR8R Podcast. You might also be interested in this free Jeremiah Jae mixtape or the Kirk Degiorgio podcast for Bleep43

New in stores are the Break Off EP by SBTRKT & Sampha with two tracks first heard on their Worldwide appearance, a picture disc (!) by Jimmy Edgar with a nice Kyle Hall remix, or a new one from Martyn on Ostgut Ton. You might also want to check out the debut album from Swede:art, now available on CD and download.

Recommended free tracks come from Kelpe, fLako and Greymatter.

If you're into photography, have a look at these portraits by Morgan O'Donovan. He's had the likes of SBTRKT, Pariah, Brackles, Sinden or Greenmoney in front of his camera.

A bit older, but never mentioned: Flying Lotus interviews Ikonika, SBTRKT mix for Benji B.
