Dear podcast contributor Kelpe is about to release a new EP for Coco Bryce label Myor. The two tracker features a brand new track with a strong 60’s electronic touch, quite different from his previous releases. On the flip is a hiphop-meet-garage vocals interpretation from Nino out of Brighton’s Donkey Pitch‘ stable.
All this will be released on 7″ and digital sometime next month. In the meantime, you might also want to check out this video for the track.
We had Maya Medvesek on our radar since in her 8bitch days, enthralled by her raw, always daring productions. On her debut EP for the Svetlana label, reborn as Nightwave, she shows a remarkable growth in terms of quality, yet keeps her distinct girly touch on London underground music.
If you like what you hear, you can get the Feel EP on vinyl and digital from Svetlana’s Bandcamp.
As his new album Room(s) on Planet Mu nears its release, Travis Stewart aka Machinedrum made a video for one of the iTunes exclusives.
You can call this track yours on July 25th, alongside the rest of the album. And it’s already available for pre-order on iTunes!
When I read the subject line in my inbox, I was hoping for some collaboration like that Prime Numbers release in 2009, but I’m not going to complain about a 6 hour DJ set by Mr. Scruff and Floating Points either.
This was recorded only two days ago at Floating Points monthly residency at London’s Plastic People. The download is only available for a limited time only, enter pLaStK as download code and leave your feedback on SoundCloud.
YouTube user theuglymugly has made some amazing videos before. For his latest he perfectly chopped up Jean Claude van Damme to music from Actress’ Splazsh album.
Make sure to check out his other videos for Dimlite, Lukid and another for Actress.
The Weekly Bits collect some of the most noteworthy news from our Twitter stream. Let’s see if you missed any of these.
With his self-titled debut album finally in stores, here’s a music video for SBTRKT‘s single featuring Yukimi Nagano
Another much anticipated album is Zomby‘s forthcoming Dedication. Two of its tracks are available now on a highly limited 7-inch and one of them is a free download.
Drexciya‘s DJ Stingray contributes to Electronic Explorations second Legends Guest Mix Series, playing a selection fast paced techno.
Another Detroit legend, Planet E founder Carl Craig, has been interviewed by We Love Music. The video also features comments by the likes of Derrick May, Paul Woolford and The Mole.
Spain’s 2011 Sónar festival came to an end, RBMA Radio has caught some of the live-sets including these from Teebs, Illum Sphere, Cosmin TRG or The Brandt Brauer Frick Ensemble. BBC Radio 1 aired Scuba’s set on this week’s Essential Mix, and Benji B has even more.
I got two more mixtapes for you: DJ Andy Smith’s never released Document 4 and this Groove Merchants radioshow with a guestmix from Mount Kimbie.
Lastly, here’s the sad story of Andy Baio, who recently got sued by Kind of Blue cover photographer Jay Maisel for “using” his picture for his Kind of Bloop project.
Following Virgo Four‘s stunning Resurrection box set, Rush Hour has released a first set of remixes this week. This is the A-side from Dan Snaith’s Caribou project, the flipside holds a remix by Hunee and the original version.
If you don’t have a copy of Resurrection in your shelf yet, let us also remind you of this megamix by Legowelt, made of nothing but tracks from that album.
The first lady of Brainfeeder, LA’s Tokimonsta is the latest contributor to oki-ni‘s podcast series and it’s a truly wonderful mix.

I used to call myself a huge fan of John Tejada‘s music, but then I kinda lost track of his music since 2004’s Sweat (On the Walls). So much on fandom. Anyhow, he is back with a new longplayer on Germany’s Kompakt Records and it’s good to have him… back?
As you can hear it’s all a bit calmer now, but the signature Tejada sounds are all still there. You can listen to more of the album on Kompakt’s (much cooler) player or buy your copy from stores such as Boomkat, Rush Hour or Bleep.
I’m not sure if it’s a typo, but the Kompakt store lists the 2xLP plus CD for only €13.70 – the CD alone costs €12.80.
This new 12-inch from Mr Beatnick already got lot’s of praise and deservedly so. Aside from the brilliant title track, there’s also this Architeq on it. You can listen to that in full lenght right here.
Also from the same 12-inch is the track Casio Romance (we posted the BNJMN Remix), but you should just walk into a record store and pick up the 12-inch.
It’s out on Don’t Be Afraid and you can find it on Boomkat, Juno, Rush Hour and so forth.
For those that miss the golden days of broken beat, the latest 12-inch on Hyperdub will wet your pants. It comes from Ossie, it’s out now and there’s no way around it if you ask me.
Make sure you also check out his recent mix for FACT Magazine and grab those free tracks over at SoundCloud.
Around the time when our last podcast came out, UK’s Gerry Read released his debut on the Dark Arx label. That was quite some time ago and since then Gerry’s interested shifted from deep, techy dubstep to straight house music. Like on his last mixtape, Gerry continue to shows his love for house on this guestmix.

tracklist not available, sorry
We decided against an interview this time, but if you want to find out more, Sonic Router and Get Some talked to the man a while ago.
While Gerry Read has a page on SoundCloud page, you will have to visit Dark Arx and Live Ones to hear some of his music. His forthcoming 12-inch will be released through the new Ramp Recordings sublabel Fourth Wave, snippets of that just went online.
A short documentary by The Creators Project, who met up with Tom Jenkinson to talk about the sound of information, thinking of music in numbers, Chris Cunningham, his band Shobaleader One and their live shows.
Eglo Records has been treating us good in the last couple of months. First a new EP by Fatima, followed by another Floating Points this week. And next up, it seems, is a new FunkinEven record, at least there’s a new video announcing a new 12-inch.
The video was directed by Inumikaku and features cameos from Fatima. Vinyl release to be confirmed.
With SBTRKT‘s self-titled album being only a couple of days from entering record stores around the world, the masked producer has uploaded this live version of the album track “Hold On”.
Vocals are once again delivered by longtime collaborator Sampha, but the situation on the album is quite different. To get a better idea, why don’t you listen to the entire album on the stream?
